Lorraine lives in Australia, she has a similar addiction to me, we are members of the underground support group, Liberty Addicts United (Ok, I made that bit up). Lorraine emailed me to tell me about a place in London that sold Liberty prints starting at £11 a metre. Kate did the same. Isn't it great how people in far flung corners of the world like to help me feed my addiction? Now, I knew of this place, but had never been, partly because I don't like to stray out of the comfort zone of Soho and Mayfair, and partly because I would get a lot of eye rolling and sighing from other members of the family. What I didn't know was that they sold online. Isn't that brilliant? Yes. I think so. The selection is amazing, they have LOADS of different prints, and remnants too for a measly £1. I will be visiting in person next time I visit London, and I will ignore any eye rolling and shop shop shop (I did buy a few bits from the website, it was nice and quick to arrive - postage was a bit costly, but I'm not complaining).
Back to Lorraine, she is collecting blues for an eventual quilt. So, Lorraine, if you're watching and I have any blues you don't have email me and I'll pop some in the post. Maybe you could send me a koala, a real one, I'd quite like to have one as a pet. Or maybe a wallaby - they're rather cute too. I think a roo would be too big. Although Miss G is fond of a platypus, it could live in the bath. Just poke some airholes in a box, mark it as fabric scraps, value $0 and I'm sure it'll get through customs no problem.
More stashes? Go here and drool to your heart's content, especially if your name is Rachel and you loathe Liberty prints - you weirdo ;)
Back to regular sewing, I am off to a birthday party later. I haven't met the little boy before, one of W's friend's kiddywinks. Apparently he likes pirates, so I've made him a pirate doll, and (just in case he hates dolls) a pirate drawstring bag to keep stuff in.
Christmas is a week on Wednesday. I am still behind, nothing is wrapped, I am sure I've forgotten to buy for a ton of people, I am halfway through quilting a lap quilt for my Nan, making 2 dolls for an order from a friend, but all international parcels are mailed and will be there in time for the big C. Miss G is slowly warming back up to the idea of Christmas after the RS teacher debacle. I'll tell you the school's response tomorrow. I'd like to hear your opinions on it...I don't think they've dealt with it adequately. Anyway, enjoy your Sunday, and I'll be back with a rant tomorrow...

good golly that was a lot of reading. I now need to nap. You are one fabric crazy person.
Just when I had decided buying Liberty was impractical and out of my reach...WOW~ I am drunk with the possibilities!!
I'm sorry, was that ME you were having a pop at?!! He, he, you made me giggle anyway!
PS. I'm now on to the foot section of sock no 2 - so you might even get them before christmas!
:)
Hmmm - I'm still not getting the whole Liberty print thing....
;o)
I've only looked at two pages of Liberty prints and I think my head is going to explode. I think I need to go back to pretending I don't know they exist.
Ooo! I think I should love to visit there sometime.
As to the school RS/Santa debacle I won't be able to read the outcome but unless the teacher apologises to you and recognises it is not his/her place to discuss that with a child then I would be on the case again. Don't forget you can raise it with the governors too.
I love the little pirate doll..I best not show H or he will be wanting one.. lovely fabrics naturally.. *cough* addict *cough*
glad G is warming up to christmas again.
Katy! I just ABSOLUTELY love my stocking full o'cheer package! You really did outdo yourself - the baby quilt (gasp! how lovely and thoughtful!) the ornaments, the book, the stocking, the sweets ... I can't wait to show off the package tomorrow on my blog. It really did bring a whole lot of cheer into my home! Thank you so much! I hope my package arrives safely as well.

I was late to work this morning after lingering at computer in shock at the honorable mention.
What excitement .
Kate you are so kind to offer to send over some blues but I think I have more than I need already & constantly put off starting the said quilt just so I can keep adding to my pile .
I shall see what native fauna I can come up with for you , we had a snake in the house a few Christmas's
ago but I suppose you won't want one of those .
that pirate boy is DIVINE! You clever thing! As for preparing for Christmas - yeah don't worry - I haven't even put up the tree yet and as for presents - they'll happen won't they! As for the koalas, wallabies and platypus, well despite living in Kangaroo Point, the only local fauna I can come up with for you are mosquitoes and you are welcome to as many as I can box :-)
As the hostess of this stashy business I plan on been fashionably very late this week...you know how it is...life...anyway, I am going to show off my liberty stash too...love yours, Tam xo
great stash - fab pirate
grr to school
Love the pirate boy! I want one! Nevermind the kids.
Lorraine gets all the credit - she put me onto the site. Not sure yet whether to thank her, or not. My husband probably thinks "not". LOL
Lorraine, I am dying to see that quilt in blue liberty prints - it will be fabulous.
Just like last week I love the bold front row - I think it must be some sort of magic that means you keep putting my favourite prints from each weeks stash in the front row where I can see them more clearly!
x
