Sunday Stash - on Saturday

This month over at the 8two8 group is Lisa's turn. Two interesting facts about Lisa;
1 - she runs, a lot. It makes me tired thinking about it
2 - she makes awesome quilts. Like this one.
That particular one will make me weep when it's finished, I know it will. So simple, and so effective.

So, sticking with the simple, Lisa wants black and white blocks, which she will then sash with bright colours. I had a little panic, thinking I had nothing, but starting digging and actually found quite a few bits. Some of them are around a yard or more, I most definitely have enough for two 15.5 inch blocks.

I'm thinking of a log cabin type, or square in a square with a skipping girl in the middle for one (thank you Tam) but I'm stuck for the other one. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Go and visit Tam and check out more stashes!!!

Black and white fabrics can look so stunning. How about a plain backing (in either black or white) with black and white fabric appliqué on? Or do you want to piece? In which case, I'm not much help, am I?! x

I'm no help but I have to say that is my favourite quilt of lisa's as well - it is stunning.

Gosh, that quilt of Lisa's is beautiful. And I would never have thought of black and white for a quilt, but actually I think Kitty is right, it would look stunning!

How about a crazy patch block? Stars are always a winner, at least I think so. You could do a wonky star with a fussy cut centre, black & white prints for the points and black for the background. :-)

I think I will probably join you weeping! I LOVE that white quilt.

What about making some mini double hourglass blocks like those by mayaeliseboutique.

I love your stash of fabrics, the skipping girl is really cute. I'm not a quilter so I won't presume to offer advice, but I'm sure your blocks will look great
