Sunday Stash - on Saturday

I'll be busy tomorrow - I'm off for a cup of tea with Brioni, so Sunday Stash is a day early.

I bought these this week in the wilds of Derbyshire when I went to visit my friend, Apryl for a belated birthday magical mystery tour of the Derbyshire Dales (which are beautiful, and I have never visited before, despite only be an hour from mine), a spot of dairy free lunch (thank you Apryl), and some shopping.
I'd like to think the foundation piecing fabric would be used for it's true purpose, that I'd create a stunning grandmother's fan baby quilt...but the more I look at it the more I think it'd be great cut up into blocks and used with 'regular' fabric. Maybe the Jinzenji ones from a few weeks ago, and some linens in different shades of grey.

And speaking of Jinzenji, the date is set for the Festival of Quilts in Brum, Saturday August 22nd. I'll be heading down with Brioni, and meeting up with Trash and Wonderwoman. Will anyone else be joining us?

Oooh! Great button fabric! And I agree with you - using the foundation fabric as normal fabric is a great idea! I'd love to go to the festival of quilts but it is Dotty Locket's birthday that weekend so I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it :o(

me mee *waves frantically* I'm coming to the festival of quilts.. even though I haven't actually done any quilting... and I'm not sure how I will get there either.. but I will figure something out there is time right!

so glad you had a fun day out with me.. I knew you would like it round there.. and espcially that there were dairy free options at the cafes.

Oh wow - I just love that button fabric. I would think you could 'insert' that into anything and it would look stunning.

Have a lovely day tomorrow. x

what lovely fabric, sounds like you had a great day. A day out in Brum sounds good too but I will be in Greece

Love both fabrics. I think the foundation fabric could look very effective cut up particularly for someone who would know what it was.

gorgeous fabric! I always forget about shows at the NEC even though I live about 10 mins away! I'll pop it on the calendar and see how tired I feel ;)

As if you haven't made enough super-ly fantastical blocks this week you just have to sow the seeds of yet another masterpiece!

I'm still waiting for work to stop dithering to see if I can get the saturday off for FOQ. Have you bought your tickets yet??

Looking at other peoples stashes makes me want to go and buy more fabric... sigh...
This button fabric was a great pic. You could use nearly any colour with it, couldn't you? :)

Love the fabric! Where in Derbyshire was it from? My mum and dad live in Ashbourne - and I could challenge my mum with getting me a little peice!!!
