Baby quilt possibilities...there's a good few pregnant friends hanging around me at the minute, so I will be making plenty of quilts for the little mites over the next few months. Obviously I really MUST stock up on potential fabrics for the job, mustn't I?
I found these little beauties over at Quilt taffy. It doesn't get much cuter than Minny Muu, does it? That Mama Duck with her head scarf on is so sweet she makes my teeth hurt.
Thank you for the HUGE quilt love and advice on backing. I'm going for a flannel. I found a lovely bright pink with white spot, so now I have to wait for it to arrive from the good old U.S of A. Why can't I find decent fabrics over here? Or at least the fabrics I want. I wish I had a shop of my very own. (don't you dare encourage me - I have thought about it, and even found an empty shop that was so cute and old fashioned looking it'd be perfect for my dream...money and the bottom line says I really should get a grip and ignore the dream, though.)

oh gingermonkey - when you open up your wonderfull new fabric shop will you stock my range of vintage haberdashery? i bet it would be an amazing shop.
there is an amazingly pretty little shop vacant in my town too - it is soooo nice to dream about filling it up with buttons and yarns and fabrics and stuff!
Cute stash. Bricks and mortar shop dreams? Know all about that :-) X
wonderful fabrics! Do you have any tips on importing fabric from the US, I have grazing at wonderful fabric sites but have not as yet ordered any.
You know, friend, I'd be afraid that having a shop would diminish the pleasure of choosing fabric and the pleasure ofmaking things. Just a thought.....
Oh I love dreams, mine is to open a quilt shop on one half and the other half would be a children's book store. Why not do what I did, start an on-line fabric shop, just as much fun, but no overhead!
No no no - don't ignore the dream!!
I agree most of my fabric comes from the US - it is cheaper and so much nicer than all the old fuddy duddy fabric stores near me!
Nice stash by the way!!
Do open a shop, I'll visit you next time I'm in Yorkshire. Statistically this means in about 19 years time as I've been to Yorkshire only twice in the last 38 years. Plenty of time to get your shop set up I think. Love the stash show off by the way...
I don't think you got my email about your package. Thanks. Email me.
hey I hope your teeth have stopped hurting! Cute fabrics, you have some lucky friends
: )
The white fabric with the kids is making my wallet hide, as I have just ordered some more fabric. But maybe next time I NEED fabric...
I'm with you, it's lovely to dream about being a quilting shop proprieter, but it comes down to $$$. Did you know there is a minimum US$500 - $750 order excluding postage, to start up a wholesale account with a lot of fabric manufacturers? Imagine getting all that fabric...
:)
To dream the impossible dream to dah de dah ded dah ...dont know the rest go for it an online store would be good then I can cyber visit..:)
Cute fabrics!!!
It's also my dream too....*sigh*.
One half would be a quilt shop and the other half a tea shop selling homemade cakes.

hello... hapi blogging... have a nice day! just visiting here....
Oooooh, you SHOULD have a shop of your very own! It would be the best shop in the world ever. There is definitely demand for one. Why not try it out online first?
..I would also pay you to set up a screenprinting studio in the back of your physical shop where I'd produce exciting, unique fabrics for you to sell. That's my dream!
p.s. are you going to be in Mixtape or is that somebody with the same name as you?
your blog updates haven't been coming through on my bloglines, have just unsubscribed then subscribed again, hoping that will fix it. i've missed about 5 posts!
