spidey sense

My new obsession. Spiderweb blocks. I've told myself I can't spend all day making them, because the family won't get fed, the cats will end up eating other, the house will attract rats. Ever so slightly addictive? Yep. I'd say so.

So I'm restricting myself - one a day. No more.

This is the weekend's rations. A slow start, but it won't be long before I can have sweet dreams underneath a layer of scrappy spiderwebs.

See how beautiful they'll look when joined together (thanks to big huge labs and their mosaic maker). Maybe I'll make an inroad into my ever breeding stash of scraps. Now that would be a bonus.

EDIT - completely forgot to link to the tutorial I'm using. It's on Marit's blog and uses no paper foundation (which makes me a very happy bunny).

This next picture is for Aneela. I made my first cut. Give me a pat on the back. It was tough, but I did it.

Those spider web blocks are gorgeous, I can see why you've become addicted! I'll have to see if I can find a tutorial or pattern somewhere online.

awesomely beautiful! They have such a wonderful vintagey look to them - as if you found them under the table in a box at a jumble sale deep in the country - mmmmm .... It must be the minty green. I've never tried one, but I think I might have to - it's just .... I'm a weak woman and I'm scared I'll catch your disease!

I love spider web quilts. There is a paper-pieced pattern also on quiltville.com. I have one partially cut out from a Mary Engelbreit jelly roll - must get it out and make a little progress. :)

I lurve your spotty centres, I am never brave about things like that.

Ooooooh! I've saved that tutorial too and have cut out my first triangles - but I wasn't as clever as you and didn't think about using a spotty fabric for the middle - brilliant idea!
