It's the weekend so we're taking a break from the tour of awesome UK fabric shops (back monday with another corker - and another discount code, then more giveaways in the week as well!)
This weekend my parents are coming up. The past couple of weeks in our family have been pretty awful, which I won't go into now - I'm not quite in the 'right place'. We're going to go out for some lovely food and chill out. Plus I'm hoping to get one of the quilt tops that has been hanging about on the back of my door loaded onto the quilting frame I bought but then got scared of.
I really do need to conquer my pathetic fear!
Have a great weekend everyone - what are you planning on doing?

Hope everything is okay Katy. xxx
Our weekend excitement is that my brother is coming home and bringing his English girlfriend with him (we haven't met her yet) - all I know about her is that she wears an H cup bra! :-0
Conquer away...they will be amazing.
Enjoy your weekend xx
Hope you are ok Katy. I think some time in my sewing room is what I need this weekend! Lucy x
P.S Have you discovered the lovely shop "Gone to Earth"?
Hope everything is fine. Have a great weekend with your family.
Lost of love xx
Crumbs Georgia! That poor girl has a lot to live up to. Reminds me of a friend who was mortified on finding her soon to-be mil & sil exclaiming over the size of her bras hanging on the line. They could not believe people wore such small sizes! Nearly 20 years as part of that family and she still blushes thinking about it.
Miss Katy, hope all perks up at your house and that you take it easy.
Hugs to you dear Katy! May an outing with the fam and some quality time with your amazing quiltie creations bring you a bit of peace!
I will be trying to find a space to baste to commision quilts that are to large for my new tiny cottage;-)
If I can use a quilting frame anyone can. Mine is simple with only a Pfaff Grand Quilter on it, but I still had to overcome fears and I did. Good luck and I hope your knowledge allows for less experimentation and more beautiful quilting.
Ohhh I have sent you an email with pics of what I have waiting to quilt ...are you sure that we didnt live together in some way in a previous life ..spooky... hope all is well with you xx am thinking I am going to extend my holiday by 2 weeks so I get more time to catch up with everyone !!
I'm sorry for whatever you're going through - I can empathize, as we're dealing with something awful in my family, too. As for the quilting frame, have you loaded a practice quilt and just played with it? If you haven't (or haven't recently), I'd recommend doing that before putting a quilt that matters on the frame. I don't know what sort of frame and machine you're using, but I put a list on my blog that has helped me immensely when I have trouble with thread looping or breaking and other issues. You might find it useful: http://piecemealquilts.wordpress.com/frame-quilting/
Hope all is well Katy.
I'm sure once you get back on that frame you'll never get off it, go conquer that fear!!!!
Today I will be mostly drawing and trying very hard not to go online fabric shopping after certain bloggers keep on bringing new sites to my attention (ahem) ;)
I have two quilts that need to be basted, quilted and bound right now. Just patiently waiting for that darn batting to go on sale once again at JoAnns!
I hope you get lots of R&R and fun time with the fam, sounds much needed. And I hear you about the quilting part - I can piece all day but I really need some quilting help, it scares the crap out of me too!
Enjoy your visit...we just got back from holidays, so it will be a lazy day visiting the farmers market, laundry and hopefully catching up on all of my bee blocks. Good luck with your quilting!
I hope the family get together eases the woes , so that you can get stuck in & brush up those quilting skills

I hope all is well and you have a good time with the family this weekend. And just keep trying with the quilting frame - I know after a while it will be a complete doddle!!
That's a lot of quilt tops. If you don't face that fear soon, your house will be overflowing with unquilted tops!!!
Don't worry, you'll be fine!!!!

The weekend is over, but I'm still catching up. So sorry to hear things are not all well - I hope the visit helped you all to regroup and tackle this week one day at a time.
Best just go at it on the frame and let the Fraulein do with it what she will! Good luck!
