sunday stash

I have a plan....
Celebrate Seuss and Cat in the Hat by Robert Kaufman Fabrics

Available from here, here, here, here. Go shop, you have my permission ;)

It's been a while since I did a Sunday stash. I must say this stack of fabrics is probably one of my favourites for a long, long time. It will eventually become a quilt for his Gingerness, once I get some other stuffs finished first. Namely this quilt that has moved on from being a stack of blocks to a finished top. I'd intended to make it a king size, but I realised that was silly. The only king sized bed in our house is my bed and it would look really out of place in our bedroom, so it's now 80 inches square and will live in the sitting room (where it will also look a bit out place, but hey ho!) as one of the sofa quilts.
I'm out of wadding though, so the quilting will need to wait until I order a new roll. I'm thinking straight lines, each a couple of inches apart. That shouldn't take me long and then I can move on to yet another WIP. *sigh* Wouldn't it be nice to start the new year with a clean slate? Totally WIP free? I'm dreaming, of course, but it's a lovely dream.

That quilt-top is gorgeous! Absolutely wonderful!

I've got some Dr. Seuss coming this week, and I'm wondering if I'll be able to put something together for my son's 3rd birthday in 2 1/2 weeks. It sounds dicey, but I know he'd love it. He was oohing and ahhing over the fabric with me when I was ordering it!

Have fun with your Dr. S quilt!

Dr. Seuss was my all-time favorite as a kid. Would it be too weird to make myself a quilt?? maybe I could be a kid again, for just a moment.

And... I can't imagine being WIP-free. Can someone please tell me what that feels like!

Beautiful bright quilt. It is so colorful. I may just have to have a few pieces from the Dr. Suess collection. You've made it easier by giving us permission. Ha!!!

The quilt top is really stunning Katy.
Looking forward to seeing it all quilted up!
And that Seuss fabric is great.
Rita (Red Pepper lady) had the same sunday stash fabrics this week and I'm feeling like I should join in the fun.
I'm off shopping!

WIP free is a great goal for the new year! Love those fabrics, they will be hard to resist cutting into just yet. The quilt top is wonderful too. Can't wait to see it spread out on the lounge.

WIP free for the new year, now that sounds like a great idea! I've really been focusing on finishing up projects lately. Don't know if I could make it, but it is a goal to push for.

The quilt top looks fantastic. I'm also dreaming on starting 2011 WIP free. The stacks of quilt tops waiting are laughing at me though.

Now we have to have a shot of your bedroom. (Because I contend that quilts go with anything.) & Officially bigger is always better - go for king! (No one will ever complain about a quilt being too big.)

WIP free!?! mmmm, I don't think I'd ever manage that. In fact mine are so out of hand I'm declaring the first six months of next year to be 'Finish the WIP Quilts' semester.
