Thanks!

Can I introduce you to THE HURRICANE a set of 19 fat quarters of klona cotton in rainbow colours from Backstitch. Klona cotton is not kona cotton - it's slightly thicker, slightly stiffer but it works really well for anything you would want to use a cotton fabric for.

I've used it in quilts (I used it in the bathmat pic above), Miss G recently recently made a covered canvas for her art homework using the white klona as her base fabric. It washes wonderfully and softens right up.
I actually love it for patchwork because it's so easy to finger press seams, which means my points are better (that has to be a good thing!).

Alice at backstitch is offering up this whole stack of all the different colours, worth £26 to one lucky UK BASED winner. If I won (and obviously I can't because I'm not allowed to enter my own competition) I would make this quilt - wouldn't it look fabulous as a rainbow of colours for a child's bed?
What would you use it for?
Leave a comment on this post and I'll pick a winner on Monday November 29th.
Small print - giveaway is for UK based folks ONLY. Winner will receive bundle of 19 different klona cotton solids as pictured above with a retail value of £26. Please make sure you leave a valid contact email in your comment or attached to your comment.
Thanks and good luck!
GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!!! I'LL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER LATER THIS EVENING!

Wow, those are such gorgeous colours. And a slightly stiffer cotton would be awesome for my crochet project bags - I make Japanese Knot bags which need a little more support. With that many colours, I could co-ordinate my bags to the projects!

Wow! Another fantastic giveaway! I think I'd have to have a go at an all solid colour quilt such as the Plain Spoken Quilt made by Rebekah. I saw it ages ago and it's always stuck with me. So... *fingers crossed!*
Ooh ooh ooh! What pwetty colours!! I'd use them to make some beautiful striped canvas' out of the slightly muted colours. My walls in this house are bare! Lorna x
What gorgeous colours! I think if I won I would have to make something to really show off all the colours, like a rainbow or colour wheel themed quilt.
Oh, and G's tree artwork is beautiful!

*SULKS*
These look gorgeous!!
I'm only part-time UK based {I do have a postal address there} can I enter?
I'd use them to make an all solids rainbow quilt ~what else?! Something colour wheel or colour chart inspired.
oh lovely, not sure what i'd make, i need to make some rolls to store all my knitting needles in so maybe that, but then i know my son would love a quilt, so maybe it would be used for that!

Gorgeous!!! Screams patchwork teamed with bold modern prints. I may well ask for one of these bundles for Xmas if anyone asks what I want......
i would make my family tree quilt with it
Not the least idea what I'd use it for, but I'm sure I'd find something fairly quickly!
I'd use it to make lots of rainbow coloured pencil rolls. I love the kind where each pencil/felt tip has its own slot with the right colour fabric behind.
What a beautiful selection of colours!
We use linen in our quilts, and mix it with our own cotton prints, so a flash of contrasting colour could really add a new dimension- i'd use this gorgeous selection to experiment with that!
Oh I love them :) And I'm always in need of solid colours around here. I think I'd combine them with my favourite prints and make a rainbow quilt for me.
I would use that delicious pile to make something from Cherry Houses city quilt book.
Thank you
Ooooo! What a great giveaway! I'm planning some quilts for my boys bunk beds and there are plenty of boy colours in these. They would be great with the prints I've been collecting.
Thanks for the giveaway!
oh how gorgeous! I am a total sucker for rainbows of any kind. I've been wanting to make the Oh Fransson painbox quilt for ages, and this would be a fantastic way to get hold of loads of plains all at once!
ooooh yes please !! - I'm determined to do a paintbox quilt as my next big project, but equally I'm very keen on doing a bathmat, with a really thick terry backing I think. This would be perfect.
I'm not very good at collecting solids - the patterns always sing a little more loudly to me *buy Me Sarah, buy Me!*
Should I be so very lucky and fortunate to have such gorgeous things find their way to my home I would get brave and make a new schoolbag for Princess C-W to rival the Cath Kidston bags those snotty girls in her year carry!
These would make a lovely paint box quilt - I'd love to win!
Thanks for the chance.
Oh my goodness I would be in cotton heaven with this stack of gorgeousness!!! :D fingers crossed!!! x
Yay what a great giveaway, i love the rainbow
I would make my BFF a quilt for her 1st baby due in February. A brightly coloured rainbow quilt would be perfect for a baby.

I'd love to mix these solids with some large prints and make a disappearing nine patch quilt

I would love to support you in this but cannot understand why you would exclude such a large part of your readership. Maybe in the future you will be more inclusive, and then you will once again have my support. Maybe.
Signed, the ever ungrateful Anonymous.
Wait, wrong blog ... ... ...
; )
Ah, that explains it. I saw the klona on their website and did wonder what was going on. It sounds like it would be good for little bags, I've got some ideas I am hoping to try out soon.
Ohhhhh - love them!
I'd make a quilt for my eldest daughter - who just has a new bedroom in rainbow colours!
And probably a bit of wall art like your eldest too.
kerryo231@btinternet.com
:0)
I'd make a Pinwheel Quilt, pairing the solid colours with patterned fabrics of the same hue. A real rainbow.
Wow! What gorgeous colours. I'm very new to quilting and really have no idea what I'd do with all that gorgeous fabric but I'm SURE I'll find a pattern somewhere that will make it look even more gorgeous =D
samantha_butt@hotmail.com
Loving the vibrant colours!
As it is a slightly thicker cotton would be great for making bags to give them a bit more shape or great to add to my quilt (well my pile of so called blocks that will one day be a quilt!)
Thanks for the giveaway!!
Hi. I love the range of colours that this fabric comes in - a rainbow. Thanks for the chance of winning it. C
carolinehemsley@btinternet.com
I'd mix it in with a couple of bold patterns to make a quilt to give to my sister-in-law.
internet@rebeccaswilson.co.uk
Ooo Ooo pick me pick me - please, new quilter, no stash yet - what a fab way to start. Love the colours.
what a fantastic rainbow stack. I think I would use it to make a rainbow and black log cabin quilt.
What an amazing giveaway! I'm not sure what I'd use it for in the end, but first I would just sit it all on my desk and pat it every once in a while - mmm, what a beautiful stack! The grays and lighter blues would then be immediately whisked off to what I call my 'happy pile' - a stack of fabrics I've been gathering gradually and hoarding to, one day, make a special quilt just for me. Thanks for the chance to win!

I'm a newbie quilter.
I don't have a 'stash'.
I do have an old CD storage thingy tho'.
So I would put all those lovely fabrics there.....in order......& sit & stare & dream :-)
They are lovely. I would probably use them for a quilt for my 5 month old and left overs for pouches and other small projects.
PoUTing!!! Well.....I suppose you have introduced me to klona cotton, what a scream!
Yummy colours! I think I would team at least some of them with some lovely modern fabrics to make a bright and colourful quilt.
penny.hankey@tiscali.co.uk
Lovely colours - yes please!
@Nige270
ooooooh, fabric, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Wow, these are beautiful. I've been thinking of starting patchwork for a while, and what a way to start!
I want to start a rainbow scrappy quilt and this would be the perfect addition to make it truly rainbow!
Beautiful colours. I'd make a paintbox quilt for my little boy to cuddle up under.

If I won this I would give this to my mum, she has just moved into a new house near to me so I can help her out. She has just set up a craft room just for sewing in and we can't wait to get on with some sewing projects just in time for xmas. These colours will make a great start to the fabric stash in her new room!
I have just started my own handmade little business called Smiley Miley Design, I would love to add these fabrics to my collection to make goregous products to put on my new website..:-)

Pretty pretty pretty! I would stroke them for a while whilst waiting for inspiration to strike! Those pinks would be all mine though, I am in the process of making a pink and girly quilt just for me! (I live in a house full of boys).
Oh my! What pretties - who can resist a rainbow?
I'd use it to make pretty rainbow themed things for my little munchkins new bedroom. Quilt, cushions and what-not! :D
Definately a fun quilt with all those colours!
Thanks for the giveaway,
Judith.
Thank you Alice and Katy for such a super giveaway. I'd love to have a go at making a rainbow zig zag quilt, and with so many colours I might just look at Cherri House's City Quilts for further inspiration!
Lovely fabrics!
I have always fancied a colour wheel quilt for the dining room wall. But seeing the above coment, something from the City Quilts book would be fab too
teresa (teresa.coles@ntlworld.com)
Stalking...Just a little bit too ;)
I want the fabric. The colours make me very cheery on this 'orrible snowy/sludgy day.
nadine (nadine.hunsley@btinternet.com)
Gorgeous bundle! I'd use it for some flower appliqued tote bags that I've been planning for ages.. Fingers crossed. :D
OOOh, this is gorgeous. I am really getting into solids at the moment and want to use them more. I am currently planning to make rainbow colored pencil rolls as Christmas gifts for arty little ones and friends and these fabrics would be PUUURRRFECT.
how pretty are they!
Absolutely wonderful!!
I am a poor student so this Christmas I am handmaking all my presents....that is i am hand making personalised Christmas stockings for my mum, dad, sister and her new husband who is back from Afgan in 2 days! (He is a marine and they haev hardly had a week together since they got married)
They are hosting Christmas and I really want to make it special.
This fabric is divine and would be wonderful to make the stockings out of as I am going for bright colours, patchwork and a bit of a kitsh edge with them.!
Thats my plea!!
How generous - and how wonderful its for the UK. What would I make? Oh so many ideas...
As a newbie quilter I couldn't think of anything better to win!......goes off the dream of quilting projects........... Thanks.
Oh it just cries out paintbox quilt but first I'd have to place them in my almost organised sewing room and admire all the colours for a while. Could make a lovely rainbow pencil roll for my youngest but more than likely I'd sneakily want it for myself.
Miss G is a clever clog like yourself. Well done Miss G. Good luck with the giveaway to your UK fans.
I LOVE solids. I want to make an architecture medallion quilt with bold, striking colours that I think you only get from solids.
Thank you for the chance to win the fabric.
ooh i might even start something...
Oooh you can never have too many solids - I'd probably use it in every project from now on until it started to run out. Fabulous stack of fabrics.
Hi, I would love to win! I would use them to line my purses, what gorgeous colours!
: )
Hurricane! They've certainly blown me away!! fab colours, must get some immediatly! Now which quilt pattern?? gill r
Omigosh! I would soooooo love to win this little beauty. If I could bear to break up the pile which looks gorgeous as it is, I would use it as the basis for a new rainbow skirt for myself and a smaller one for the kiddie for belly dancing in. Having been meaning to for ages and this would be the incentive to get cracking in the Christmas hols :O)
What a fabulous selection!! I would make another baby quilt for my son who arrived last week.
planning on making a cherri house quilt soon and these would be perfect!
Don't they just look gorgeous in a pile - I love fabrics in a pile like that. I would use them for a pencil roll. Then look for pencils exactly the same colour and be probably just a little bit obsessive about it! x x x
Oooh! so pretty! I have three baby quilts waiting to be created so I would go on a rainbow kick!
HI I am about to attempt a full size quilt - I have only been quilting for 2 months and now my 15 year old son wants one for his newly painted 'teenage' bedroom - the klona solids would be fab and I was chuffed to bits when he asked me to make one so winning would be great! Keep up the fab blog.
I'd have to make a modern wobbly square quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!
Hello, i would love to make anything similar to what you can see in the background of this picture which is in the whip up quilt book. Thanks for the chance to win. Kathie

wow those are such great saturated colours. I'd have to make a Soudoku quilt. - each 9 patch of 9 different coloured squares is different. thanks for the chance!
I might be too late...but please count me in...:o) I'd have a great time creating something with all those colours.
