a little giveaway

Pillow

I promised it a while ago and then I got distracted by the Single Girl quilt along and all sorts of other stuff but I finally got this little pillow finished and I even mastered buttonholes in the process (which has me excited beyond all excitedness). This baby is a big girl - in the pic there's a 20 inch pillow insert inside her, but you could go up to 22 inch, for that full belly look. I like my pillows a bit squishy, just like my bum. She is made with liberty print tana lawns and kona raisin, with a button opening on the back and 2 vintage mother of pearl buttons. She comes with complimentary cat hair. So if you are not a cat person - first up, what are you doing here? I'll chase you out with a stick, and secondly, I'm sorry - my cats seek out quilty stuff and will sit on it. Cat hair is an obligatory addition to everything (much to the husbeasts annoyance).

So - what's the dealio? Simples - leave a comment. Leave a second comment if you're in the Single Girl Support Group for an extra chance to win (don't be going all sneaky on my ass and join up now - I'll know).

That's it.

COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED AND A WINNER PICKED!

Beautiful cushion, I love the contrasting binding. Everything in my house is covered in cat hair from my fur babies. They check all my quilts at every stage of the process.

I love those florals with the purple. Perhaps it should inspire me to do one of my own too - I was too chicken to sign up for the single girl show at the time. And - if I win it the postage will be fairly cheap! ;-)

Love the pillow! All of my quilty things come with cat and dog hair, my cat does the same thing as yours and the dogs hair just seems to stick to anything I don't want it to.

Love it...and the bonus cat hair might mean my dogs finally leave a pretty cushion alone! (Or probably not).

Eeeeeek! I'm a secret blog and SGSG stalker and have never posted comments on a blog before, but the beauty of your pillow has inspired me!

I'm not sure I'd be able to sit on it as then I wouldn't be able to look at it, but I do know it sure would look pretty on my sofa!

Cat hair - bring it on! I have 'quite a number' of the furry ones myself. Love the cushion - one of these days I'm going to try buttonholes.

My things all come with complimentary dog and cat hairs.
That cushion would go perfectly on my sofa just ask Aron (dog) and Charlie and Lola (cats)!

Jessy said...

Gah, it's gorgeous! I am SO dying for this beautiful pillow and I have two sweet little kitties that would love to add to the cat hair on it. :)

Jessy said...

Also, I am in the Single Girl Support Group. Unfortunately I haven't gotten as far as I would have liked by now, but most of the cutting is done. Clearly I was feeling a little crazy when I decided to make a king size quilt, but I WILL finish if it's the last thing I do!!

Chelsea said...

Oh wow, I can't believe you're willing to give something that beautiful away! Knowing how precious the tana lawns are. And what a pain the single girl pattern can be, it's doubly special.

I love that pillow!

I am in the single girl support group, I am behind and haven't posted any pics, though.

Rachel Locke said...

Beautiful!! I didnt join the single girl cause it freaked me out a bit!! Maybe someday. ;D

pbach1 said...

allergic to cats, but love the pillow! my fluffers (bichon frise canines) leave me lots of white hairs to pick off of my navy blue clothing . . . adore 'em as much as i loved my sealpoint siamese from childhood (significant contributor to the aforementioned allergies).

orchard at willard said...

Oh wow. It's beautiful and Kona raisin is a current favorite of mine. It's central to a quilt top I'm planning for the "Naked Bed" challenge so it's quite easy to say that this would be well-loved here in my home. As for cats, I love them and, oddly enough so does my big, goofy dog. -- Amy

Single girl groupie too! Thanks for the second chance to win :)

ChrisC said...

This is beautiful! I've been wanting to try my hand at the single girl quilt, but I'm not quite brave enough yet! I'd love to have this pillow on my couch. (Though my cat will, I'm sure, sniff it very suspiciously and try to cover it with her own fur as quickly as possible. I don't mind random cat fur in the house, but Violet's a jealous little beast!)

I love your fabric and colour choices for your take on the Single Girl Quilt Pattern, which I've been watching from a distance. I hope to try it myself one day when time and mental block permits.

Poppyprint said...

Nothing sneaky about me. I'm so NOT in the support group (but have been cheering my friends on enthusiastically while they wallow in template hell). LOVE your pillow. Raisin? Who knew? I'm afeared of cats and don't like them at all, really, but put your stick away because I pretend that I like them and always say hello when I see one outside, but only if it's really far away. I have a great lint roller, so would be only too happy to give my DOG your kitty pillow to sleep on :)

Meg said...

It is gorgeous, and would look perfect...anywhere! I love that it is already kitty-approved--my little bits do the same thing. I think it needs to come and live with me. Definitely.

Meg said...

And I joined up with the group at the beginning! Got as far as selecting and cutting fabrics, getting the pattern, aaaaand then I got scared! I have determined that I WILL tackle it on my vacation next month, though! Promise!

She is beautiful and even make me what to try to make a quilt to match !

monda-loves said...

you know, I wasn't going to enter because the thought of the Mr. groaning at yet another cushion in the house was filling my head, but then I thought to myself, 'what the hell does he know about cushions?' He obviously doesn't know that a girl can never have too many, in fact, there is no such things as too many cushions. And as for cat hair, I was chomping on some whilst trying to get to sleep last night, so I'll be just fine with it.

Bet you're regretting telling me to say something...anything now aren't you!

Jackie said...

I'd love to be entered for a chance to win this beautiful pillow!

I'm just crushing on the pillow, if it doesn't come to me, I may have to have a go at my own, and I may be too late for any support group now :( great color choices, I've been wondering what to do to match my new (to me) persian rug, and you've done it. Awesome job, thanks.

Did somebody say Liberty??? Now why haven't i just thought of starting a cushion quilt rather than always wanting to do a quilt quilt but never finding the time, or starting a hand stitched tiny embroidered quilt and never finding the time to finish it.
