I'm currently on my third pillow using Silent Cinema in the same pattern but mixing up the backgrounds, so instead of wheels, you get flowers. I've shown you a gazillion times, but like this...

And this little quilty is at Long Armed Chris' being custom quilted all fancy dan ready for it's trip to Sewing Summit later this year (where I'll be teaching a class on - you guessed it - this pattern, amongst other stuff English Paper Piecy).

So Aylin thought a sew-along might be a fun idea, not a strict one where there would specific posts or anything but a group where you should share pictures of your ferris wheel blocks, or spring carnival or whatever you'd like to call it. Sometimes I like to call it the damn never ending pillow project. Because that's what it is. But then I forget it's never ending and I love it again.
You can join the flickr group here
...and there are downloadable templates/worksheets/etc etc in my tutorials section - click here, download those sheets and save them. Of course, you can still buy the acrylic templates from my etsy shop. If you are interested at all. You can find them right here.
I hope you'll come join us, Summer is on it's way, you need something to keep you occupied on those long light evenings or (if you're more lucky than us in the UK) sunny days. I know loads of you have bought my templates already, so there's no excuses. Get your asses over to the flickr group. RIGHT NOW.

Oh yes would love to but as I still haven't started Swoon or Hopscotch apart from buying the patterns I am doubtful I will get there - though I have got your template I confess! No excuse I know...hangs head in shame!
I love the pillow, came out gorgeous...
Hello, I'm aware of two types of patchwork using paper... One where you cut a shape from paper, sew the fabric to it, iron it, then hand stitch shapes together. Then the other sort, where you seem to sew fabric onto paper with the machine, then somehow add another bit, all looks very complicated! Which one is English paper piecing, and what's the other one called?!? Thank you!
@Fran - english paper piecing is this kind, where you sew fabric onto/around paper templates and leave those templates in until you finish. Foundation piecing is the other kind where you use your machine. Hope that helps!
Oooh, that looks fab! Given me an idea of what to cut for my retreat class...
I have joined in, and I hope to play a bit until you can teach me properly at the FQ Retreat.
Do love that pillow and your bigger versions, scrappy vintage pieces too small for anything else would be perfect for this, just checking out the tute
Wow- I too was inspired by this cusion and made a set of templates of my own as a trial but they were a little small! Thank you so much for the link to your templates, they are brilliant! I am now going to make one and yesterday managed to get the text fabric. I love english paper piecing, it is amazing how many looks can be achieved from the same pattern! H.xx
think i can use that lovely fabric you sent me for this.....duly signed up!
Wonderful pillow! EPP is too much hand work for me, but I love the way it looks when it's done!
Thank you for posting my pillow and these lovely words ;-)
oooh, I think I need to do this, I have been practising my paper piecing just recently and this will be a great portable project and use up my scraps!
It's stunning and once I've finished my hexies I'll be right over - somewhere around Christmas?!!
amazing! Just convo'd you thru Etsy. Love that pillow, amazing, all of it!
Oh I'm in like an English Paper Piecing Flynn. I may shameless steal the texty fabric background idea. Love me some text on fabric!
I am all over that, like a politician on a call girl!
It is a gorgeous pillow I'll have to look into it =D
Will you have some templates for sale at Retreat, in a cinema ice-cream seller-style tray perhaps?
Ok...so I ABSOLUTELY love that pillow and it so belongs in my house. But...my EEP skills are lacking. Sooo...I'll be taking your class at SS....
Oh lordy I'm loving this pillow with they text background! Now I need to invest in more text prints so I can make one for myself!!
Ooh cant wait to have a go at this on the retreat!!
Wish I could take a class from you.
I've decided that this is going to be my first proper attempt at patchwork in years & my first go at quilting - after reading many blogs for inspiration/help - I love the design, hope mine turns out as nicely. A cushion is so much more achievable at the moment than a full on quilt.
Love, love, LOVE your Ferris wheel! "Life's Rich Pattern" mentioned you and I am glad she did! Your work is so refreshing! ~ L
